The European regulatory landscape for New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) is evolving rapidly, creating new opportunities for innovation in plant breeding and sustainable food systems.
During this Campus Connect, experts from research and industry will discuss the latest developments in NGTs and the implications of the emerging European regulatory framework. What are these new genomic techniques, how do they differ from conventional breeding and genetic modification, and what opportunities do they create for research, innovation and commercialisation?
The speakers will share perspectives from science, technology development and the plant breeding industry. They will explore how the changing regulatory landscape may stimulate investment, accelerate the development of new crop varieties, and strengthen Europe's position in the global innovation arena. The discussion will also address the international context, comparing developments in Europe with those in countries such as the United States and Brazil.
